Can I Have A Blu Ray Disc And A Surround Sound All Hooked To The Same System?

thinking of getting a blu ray disc player, I already have a surround sound and dvd player system can I hook up the blu ray disc player to it or to my lcd tv? or do I have to take off the surround/dvd system?
would the blu ray just hook to the tv and the surround? HELP

  1. certainly (but that depends on some circumstances)
    first check availabe connections that would match your surround sound system/receiver (hdmi, component, svid, rca’s), and also tv.
    with bluray players, video and sound would be maximized using hdmi connections
    the question is does your surround sound system support both video and audio on hdmi connection?
    does the the tv support hdmi as well?
    if the answer to both question is yes, then you’re all set.
    but if your surround sound system is not able to support both video and audio, and the tv does, then plug it in directly to your tv. and then route the sound back to the sound system using an audio connection (optical, coaxial, rca).
    *note:
    1. make sure the tv is set to hdmi, using input selector
    2. make sure the that the audio connection is from audio out from tv and audio in (or equivalent) on sound system. if the connection needs digital input settings then do so.
    now if your tv does not support hdmi and neither the surround sound system, then you won’t be able to maximize video quality, so you’ll just end up resorting on analog connections; that would entail low resolution picture and merely stereo sound quality sound. but at least you’d still be able to use both your tv and surround sound system with your bluray player.
    LET ME EMPHASIZE AGAIN, check the available connections for video and audio from the SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM/RECEIVER and from the TV.

  2. Yes you can put a blu ray player on your surround sound. Depending how you have it setup, run the three video cables or HDMI to your tv then find a open input on your receiver hook that up. Turn everything to the input you hooked it up to it should work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…
