Problem Playing Blu Ray Disc On Laptop Blu Ray Player?

I bought a new laptop last week. Sony vaio vgn fw11s (if this helps!)
It has a blu ray disc drive but I bought a blu ray disc today and it doesnt play it. It plays blu ray via intervideo WinDVD. The screen just says it needs an update to play the disc.
I’ve updated blu ray via vaio updates and it still doesn’t work. What can I try next?
