Will Xbox 360 Ever Have A Blu-ray Disc Player?

I was very disappointed about the Microsoft Press Conference today. No blu-ray disc and that new dashboard was terrible. Glad i wasted my microsoft points on Pics and Themes. Anyway, does anyone think there will ever be a blu-ray disc player/attachment to Xbox 360 now?

  2. The Xbox 360 will never have a blu-ray disk player. Blu-ray is owned by Sony, and Sony makes the PS3. PS3 has the Blu-Ray and its pretty much the only thing it has going for its self. The Xbox tried to compete with this and made an external HD-Drive for the Xbox 360. The ongoing battle of HD and Blu-Ray…. Blu-Ray wins. The ongoing battle of Xbox 360 and PS3… Xbox wins. just not with the Blu-Ray playback. Also, the new dash board is accessible through the current “Blade” dashboard. I was P**sed off myself of the terrible new dash, but don’t worry, its still going to be there.
    Also… Xbox Live Prime Time!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT??

I don’t think that there will be a Blu-Ray player on the Xbox 360, because, one, Blu-Ray disc prices need to come down, and two, Blu-Ray doesn’t own the market yet, it doesn’t own a large portion of the market to sell to. And, for people without HD TVs, Blu-Ray doesn’t matter. Hope this helps. Bye!!!

  4. The 360 will not have blu-ray but I’m don’t see how microsoft can beat around the bush in the future. If microsofts plan is to make xbox the media center for all families then sooner or later they will have to implement blu-ray.

    Why would you want one?
    Why would you rebuy all of your DVDs and pay 30$ extra than the first time you bought them when you have a perfectly good DVD player right beside your xbox and a DVD player in your xbox…. nothing but stupidity

  6. Most likely not because Sony and microsoft would have to combine and the blu ray player is one of the advantages over the 360

    xbox will never even TOUCH blu-ray!! lol bcuz of blu-ray sony is doing very good in business!! plus sony is the one who made blu-ray, they own it

  8. i wish but no blu-ray is owned by sony………. come on dont be disapointed theyre adding more games, sweet themes, netflix, new xbox 60 gb, and i forgot what else but its cool this is the future

  9. If it did get Blu-Ray i’d burn my Xbox.
